Mr. Sachin Kumar is a Post Graduate in Forestry (Economics & Management), a qualified Sales-Marketing Trainer, & a certified German language interpreter. He believes in the idea of heterogeneity & mutual cohesion which are essential for constructive progression in the society. He has worked in almost all the metropolitan cities in India in different job roles right from concept selling & marketing to the problem solving & policy advocacy to the top decision makers in the country, at platforms such as streets, public places, government & corporate board rooms.
Mr. Kumar started his career as a fundraising & environment campaigner for ‘Greenpeace India Society’, an internationally renowned not-for-profit organization working on environment protection. There he learnt the art of campaigning based on the principles of truth, bearing witness, and non-violent & direct action.
Later on, he honed his skills by marketing business ideas and finding solutions for challenges of the industry while working with ‘IDG India’, an Information Technology media company. Besides, he developed skills for sales, marketing, brand building, business development, graphic designing & report writing from a wide range of IT magazines, seminars and events.
Further at ‘Investment Innovation & Research Alliance’ and ‘World Trade Center’ in Bangalore he developed expertise in government liaising, event management, project management, business development, and international trade promotion while representing European Business Group, Education Ministry of Germany, and Fraunhofer Germany.
Currently, he is working in the capacity of the Executive Director of ‘Textile Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (India)’, a premier industry association representing the interest of the textile machinery manufacturers in India. His more than 18 years of experience in resource fundraising, issues-based campaigning, government liaising, and formulating industrial policies & organizational strategies have helped him grow as a Professional Services Expert.
Under his leadership, TMMA(I) was able to bring out important R&D projects for development of a ‘Hi Speed Shuttle-less Rapier Loom’, and establish a ‘Common Engineering Facility Center’ in Surat for the Textile Engineering Industry (TEI) in India under public private partnership with 80% funding from Government of India. To promote technology development, acquisition, and joint ventures he organized technology scouting missions overseas, and developed mutually cooperative relations with several counterpart industry associations globally. At present, TMMA is campaigning with Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Heavy Industries to bring out a “Commercialization Scheme for Indigenously Researched & Developed Technologies or Acquired through Technology Transfer from within the country or overseas”. This will greatly help promote “Make in India” and an “Atmanirbhar Bharat” notion in the mindset of each and every textile entrepreneur in the country.
