What We Do

Being in the process of establishing an R&D Centre for textile machinery, the Association has been constantly interacting with the Government, the IIT, Mumbai, the Bureau of Indian Standards, various Textile Research Associations etc. to understand the technical problems of the domestic Textile Industry in upgrading their products through the machinery and equipment supplied by the Indian Textile Machinery Industry.

Government Liasoning :

The TMMA has been continuously in touch with the concerned government departments especially its sponsoring authorities like The Office of Textile Commissioner (Textile Machinery Branch), Department of Heavy Industries, (Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises), Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of MSME and Department of Science and Technology, in order to deliver various industrial matters like fiscal, research and development, export & import, industry statistics, corporate conferences & Seminars, industry events on national as well international representation, constructive role in framing government policies for the benefit of the industry all in line to apprise the industry’s performance.

Research and Development :

One of the key objectives of TMMA is to execute R&D programmes together with industry and textile research associations like Northern India Textile Research Association, South India Textile Research Association, Bombay Textile Research Association, Silk & Art Silk Research Association, Man Made Textile Research Association, Ahmedabad Textile Research Association and many other Textile Technical Institutes and Universities like IITs & Others to continuously serve the TEI to reach out with full of its capabilities.

Export Promotion :

In the direction of promoting exports of the Indian Textile Machinery, the Association deputes many delegations of members together with the Government officials to different countries to acquaint the textile industrialists there on the capability of the Indian Textile Engineering Industry to supply machinery of modern generation backed by effective & prompt after-sales-service. Association also participates in many Exhibitions held abroad to promote the exports of Indian Textile Machinery. The reports of these delegations are printed and circulated to the concerned departments of the Government as well as to the Textile Industry organisations. Besides, TMMA has several meetings with foreign delegations concerned with textile machinery industry which visits India.

TMMA presents Export Excellence to its members consultants for their export performances annually along with their performance in R&D sectors.

Market Intelligence and Statistics :

TMMA provides real time data on TEI on Export, Import, production, capacity utilisation, industry gaps, market trend, international opportunities, HSN code & category wise machine to machine figures, TUF scheme subsidy data, KIHT analysis, Industry census, ITMF statistics, Gherzi report on TEI, DGCI&S report and various relevant statistics on market intelligence to enable our members to be always on front runner with data in hand on periodic basis.

Events and Meetings :

TMMA arranges several seminars, workshops and buyer seller meets on several themes related to the textile machinery industry and technology developments made for its members. Many of these programmes are supported by the various Government Departments and textile associations.

TMMA is also the key founder member of India-ITME Exhibition Society who organizes India-International Textile Machinery Exhibitions in India on a span of every four years. The recent exhibition India-ITME 2022 is scheduled at Noida from 7 to 13 November, 2022.

Promotion of Indigenous Production of Textile Engineering Industry :

The Association promotes production of modern indigenous textile machinery which is used by the textile industry of India for manufacture of fabrics to clothe the Indian masses. In this behalf, TMMA published several editions of a Guide called “Buyers' Guide to Indian Textile Machinery” incorporating the names and addresses of all Indian manufacturers of textile machinery, parts and accessories with their production range etc. for free distribution among textile mills, the Government officials, Research Associations, Foreign Embassies and High Commissions, apex organisations concerned of the textile and other industries.
